Cross The Pond is the largest and longest-running event on VATSIM (20+ years). The event has now changed to occur once a year and alternate between flying eastbound or westbound. Hundreds of pilots light up the virtual skies, and dozens of controllers burn both ends of the candle to provide professional ATC service over the Ocean and the Continents.

After five honk-tastic adventures parodying blockbuster movie titles with our favorite aggressive Canadian goose, the bird is back and drama has landed in New England airspace. This time, it's HONK VI: The Real Housewives of Boston Approach — where the skies are filled with more shade, side-eyes, and "You cannot sit with us" vibes than a Logan International arrival rush.

This event will feature full staffing of Boston Consolidated TRACON (A90) airspace, providing pilots with realistic operations across the region. Controllers will cover the entire A90 TRACON and all towered airports including:

On March 17th, 2026, from 7:00–10:00pm ET (2300–0200 UTC), pilots are welcome to arrive, depart, and enjoy pattern work at a selection of classic airports ringing Long Island Sound. The event centers on the Class C facilities of Long Island MacArthur Airport (KISP) in Islip, NY, and Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (KPVD) in Providence, RI, while also featuring a handful of welcoming Class D fields ideal for general aviation: Tweed-New Haven (KHVN), Bridgeport (KBDR), Suffolk County (KFOK), Groton-New London (KGON), Quonset State (KOQU), and New Bedford Regional (KEWB).

Cruising along the shores of Long Island Sound offers breathtaking views of historic seaside villages, charming getaways, and enduring maritime communities that have shaped American coastal life for generations. From the whaling-era ports and elegant Gold Coast estates of Long Island’s North Shore to the quiet harbors, sandy beaches, and fishing traditions of Connecticut and Rhode Island, the region is steeped in rich nautical and cultural history—perfectly framed by calm waters and classic New England scenery that makes every approach or low-level departure feel special.

On Friday, January 30, 2026, from 1900-2300 ET (2359-0400z), expect full staffing across the featured airports: Washington National (KDCA), New York LaGuardia (KLGA), and Boston Logan International (KBOS), along with their surrounding airspaces.

Pilots flying the Northeast Corridor can anticipate high-volume traffic mirroring real-world operations. Due to the inherent complexity and congestion of the northeastern airspace, traffic management initiatives – including ground delays, holding, miles-in-trail restrictions, and possible reroutes – are likely to be in effect. Plan accordingly, bring extra fuel, and enjoy the challenge!

This iconic event celebrates the tight coordination between our three ARTCCs while paying homage to Amtrak's famous Northeast Corridor rail service that connects these major hubs.

Whether you're shuttling between DCA, LGA, and BOS or flying in from afar, come experience the energy of the Northeast Corridor. Controllers and pilots alike – let's make this another memorable FNO!

It's a shame that events often fail to provide pilots with an abundance of options. Typically they will feature only a couple airfields, and aviators will only have a couple city-pairs to consider if they want some stellar ATC service. Well on November 28th, you can forget about that problem.

VATUSA will be on this Friday from 2359 to 0400z. We are guaranteeing coverage from coast to coast, sea to sea, border to border, however you want to say it. The hardest part about this event: choosing where to fly. You'll only have four hours of guaranteed coverage, so make the most of it. Our recommendation: do something different. Don't take out the 737 for your classic bored milk runs. Load up a plane that you haven't tried in a while. Visit a part of the country that you haven't seen before. Whatever you do, you know you'll have coverage from VATSIM's best.

The BVA Administration Team plans to host an all members meeting to highlight and review changes and improvements coming to the community. This year, the A-Team is planning to hold the all members meeting on Sunday, December 21st from 8:00pm to 10:00pm ET in the BVA Members TeamSpeak.  

The members meeting is open to both pilot and controller members of the community and will offer a dedicated time for Q&A with the A-Team towards the end of the meeting. We look forward to talking and meeting with all of you.

Join us for this one of a kind ATC marathon event! Boston Center will be staffed continuously for 60 hours throughout the weekend in December.  As part of this unique tradition, we will also be hosting Friday Night Operations (FNO) to kick off the first night of this amazing weekend. This is one of our favorite events and we look forward to talking to you all throughout the weekend of continuous ATC coverage.

Come celebrate the relaunch of the BVA Military with our friends at the newly formed, BVA Special Operations (Spec Ops), at their launch party event! BVASO members will be celebrating their new chapter by conducting a number of VSOA-approved activities throughout our airspace to highlight both military-focused operations and the newly created civilian-focused operations and their importance in real-world aviation jobs in the ZBW airspace.

Highlighting aviation tasks like aerial refueling, MEDEVAC and critical care patient transport, formation flying, Search & Rescue, and MOA training, critical military and civilian airports that support the mission of our real-world counter parts will be staffed to support GA, VFR and pattern work, and other commercial flying to allow both VSOA pilots and regular members plenty of opportunities to fly. Featuring Boston Logan Airport (KBOS) and the surrounding hospitals, the Boston MedFlight base at Bedford/Hanscom Airport (KBED), and the Massachusetts ANG base at Westover Air Force Base (KCEF), there is no shortage of destinations for what is sure to be a fun-packed Saturday afternoon.

Non-VSOA members are encouraged to conduct point-to-point VFR flying alongside our demonstration but are reminded that any VSOA-approved activities must be conducted by ONLY active and approved BVASO members. Who knows? Maybe suddenly you'll be in a formation flight of F-15s if you miss a radio call or two....
