The models are generally compatible. We are working on an installer for v5 that we hope to release in the next few weeks. Keep an eye on the FLAi Facebook page for updates.

Short answer: probably not.

Longer answer: We're looking at compatibility. The challenge right now is that nobody (we know of) has figured out how to add AI aircraft models to flight simulator. Our team has tried a number of things and hasn't been able to figure out how this would be done. As a result, we can't even tell whether or not the models we have will display in the sim. If they can be displayed, then it should be easy to create compatibility. But if there is no way to inject the models, or if the models we have won't display (as we suspect), then there won't be a way for FLAi to work with the new simulator.

I hadn't seen it before. Having looked through it briefly, I notice it uses IVAO's models. I believe IVAO has several statements discouraging people from using their models elsewhere, especially on VATSIM (though I'm not sure how actively they police it).

From an FLAi perspective, our standpoint is still that we want to respect the wishes of the developers who created models and liveries. If we can obtain their permission to "convert" their models and/or if they decide to build MSFS models and give us those -- wonderful.

I know there are several model matching solutions out there, this being one of them, for MSFS. I don't see the harm in trying them out to see what your experience is!

After the last update to v23, my P3D does not start anymore. I know the problem is from FLAi because after removing the FLAi folder from Documents/Prepar3d Add-ons folder, P3d starts fine. When I add it back, P3D won't start again. Thoughts and workaround?

Hey @Harry Yang, this could be caused by a duplicate aircraft issue we have with the B734's aircraft.cfg file. We're waiting on Szymon to push an update for that soon and once that's been resolved, I expect you won't have the issue. For now, try this and let me know if it helps:

Quote

Go to your P3D aircraft library (I think this will be Documents/Prepar3d Add-ons for you, but it's wherever the airplanes are - you can do a search if not sure). Then open the aircraft.cfg, then scroll down to [fltsim.21] and add DHL to the end of the title= line.

I've asked for an update to get pushed today or tomorrow that should resolve this.

Hi @Evan Reiter

Thanks for your help. That was my previous problem. It displayed an error message when P3D started. I fixed it as you described by modifying the title of fltsim.21.

This is a different problem. There was no error msg, not even a program frozen/hang can be seen anywhere. The aircraft.cfg file in B734 folder does no have duplicate titles.

Today I found a workaround: uncheck the dynamic lighting box in the setting menu of FLAi followed by an update. This update reverted aircraft.cfg to the one containing duplicate titles. After fixing it by modifying entry 21, all is well.

BTW, I did not use DL in P3D setting menu, it might be the source of the problem.
