AuthoRiZed to work Boston Center

Recommended Posts

Join me in congratulating Mateo Rodriguez (RZ) who has just earned his certification to work Boston Center!

Mateo was just a squeaker when he joined us in 2019, but he quickly grew up right before our eyes into a Mentor role and now a C1.

Here are some kind words that have been said about Mateo by his past Mentors and Instructors:

Quote

Not only were his clearances accurate, but he kept a thorough scan with consistently high volumes of traffic. - RI (Class C Ground)

Good phraseology, good coordination, good understanding of secondary runways, good procedures in general. Nothing else to really say. - LE (Class B Ground)

Mateo's traffic pointouts were significantly improved, as was traffic flow and class B VFR procedures. - HI (Class B Tower)

Quote

RZ is able to easily apply all components of being a radar controller. His knowledge is excellent. - KK (Class C Approach)

The highlight for today was that RZ had zero conflicts, zero airspace busts, and zero losses of control of the scenario. A couple of times RZ started falling behind but he cleaned it up very nicely. The big reason for this success was POSITIVE SEPARATION and SPEED ASSIGNMENTS! - NU (Class B Approach)

Congrats Mateo! Don't forget to keep your head on your shoulders on the network and ask for help if you need it!

Congratulations! The S1->C1 journey can seem like a long one at times. I hope you take the opportunity to reflect on it and found it was something you've enjoyed doing. And, of course, hope that the license to learn serves you well on BOS_CTR in the coming years!
