BVA's Getting Started Guide: Get Help

Getting Help Navigation >> Where To Find Information

At-home flight simulation can be an overwhelming, even without the additional thrill of flying online. If you are feeling a little overloaded, there are plenty of places you can go to find more help. BVA prides itself on helping new and old members alike, and making your online experience as much fun as possible. This final section of our Getting Started Guide provides information about where to get more help.

BVA's website and this guide are two of the most important resources you will come across. The answers to many questions can be found with a little patience and close reading. While we are always happy to answer questions, it may be faster for you to take a moment to look through the appropriate section of this guide or the website than to send us an email.

The Website

There are a wide variety of resources provided across the BVA website. If you're new to the community, check out the Orientation pages of our site, which provide recommendations on the best resources based on your experience with simulation.

Forums

There is a wealth of very interesting and important information on our forums. You can introduce yourself, ask questions, or read resources for flying and simulator configuration. Ensure you are logged in to access and have posting privileges on the forums.

If you have general questions, comments, problems, or suggestions that you feel the community should know (or can help with), making a post on the open forums is a great idea (don't forget that everyone, including non-members, can see the forums, so please don't post sensitive information like the TeamSpeak password).

Discord & TeamSpeak

Discord (text only) and TeamSpeak (primarily voice) are designed for social interaction between members. New members are welcome to join Discord and TeamSpeak and introduce themselves. It's often easiest to receive support in real time using the instant messaging available in Discord or to speak to a live human being in TeamSpeak. Detailed instructions for connecting to Discord and TeamSpeak are provided to members on our Social page.

Email

Our community's administrators are happy to answer your questions via email too! However, keep in mind that we are volunteers and our response time might be a little longer than you might want. Sometimes, asking your question on the forums or through Discord/TeamSpeak can result in a faster response. But please, don't hesitate to reach out! You can email [email protected] or use our contact form to target a specific department within the Administration Team.
