BVA's Military consists of a group of military veterans and enthusiasts, who strive to recreate military aviation realism to the max extent possible on the VATSIM network. We primarily fly Naval aircraft but any military aircraft is welcome. All real world procedures and policies are used at all times when flying on the network. BVA Military, callsign Mace, operates out of Westover ARB in Springfield, Massachusetts (KCEF).
Thank you for your interest in BVA's Military. Because we strive for realism, we do not have a written exam that you can take and, by passing, be granted acceptance. Acceptance is determined by an interview with Senior Members and/or Officers.
Applicants must have a drive and desire to simulate military procedures and flying to the most realistic extent possible. All skill levels will be considered. All members are required to take part in BVA's Pilot Ratings Program into order to progress into military-specific training. Any and all military-specific training will take place with an instructor while flying live on the network.
To apply, please send an email to Commander Chris Raabe at [email protected]. In your email, include your name, VATSIM CID, flight simulator experience, flight simulator platform, military experience (real-world or simulator), and a brief description about yourself and why you think you would be a good fit for BVA's Military.
We are a free, immersive, and realistic air traffic control community for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. We provide air traffic control within the Boston ARTCC on VATSIM. We are not affiliated with the FAA, or the real-world Boston Center facility.
