Privacy and Online Safety Statement
We ask you to provide a very limited amount of personal information when you apply for a pilot membership with us. We will never ask you for an address, credit card number, or other payment information (unless you choose to make a donation to our non-profit organization). We take the privacy of our members seriously and will not disclose information you provide to any third-party or other member of the community without your consent, except where required by law. Your email will only be used to contact you directly, to send you community-wide bulletins (normally once per month), and to advise you of upcoming events if you opt in.
Any information you provide on a public message board will be available for collection by members of this community as well as the general public. Portions of our forums are not password-protected and should be treated as a public space.
You should always be careful when providing information about yourself to others, and communicating through BVA and VATSIM is no exception. BVA does not charge for its services and there is no requirement to pay a subscription or fee to access the community.
If you are under 18, you'll receive an email from us when you apply. The email is designed to introduce the community to your parent or legal guardian. We believe it's important for children and parents/guardians to discuss what's happening online. We recommend that all minors forward this short introduction email to their parent/guardian as a starting point to a conversation about their involvement in the community.
BVA does not vouch for individuals’ certifications. As a result, someone claiming to be a real-world pilot or flight instructor may or may not actually hold those ratings.
THIS WEBSITE IS DESIGNED FOR FLIGHT SIMULATION PURPOSES. THE CONTENTS OF THIS WEBSITE MUST NOT BE USED FOR “REAL-WORLD” AVIATION PURPOSES OR AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR RECEIVING INSTRUCTION FROM A CERTIFIED PROVIDER.
