Completing Your Equipment Suffix
An equipment suffix provides controllers with information about your navigation capability. ATC will use this information when assigning routes, departure procedures, arrivals, and approaches so it is important to include the correct equipment suffix when filing your flight plan. Always file an equipment suffix representing the highest capability of your aircraft, even if you plan not to use that capability during the flight.
