BVA's Minor Facility Showcase gives pilots the opportunity to experience one of our minor airports. Local and overlying air traffic controllers will be providing service for those looking to explore the area, practice instrument approaches, arrive from afar, or just remain in the pattern. With a single focus-airport, this is the perfect opportunity to experience being sequenced at a busier airport with both IFR and VFR arrivals. This week's event features the controlled airport of Syracuse (KSYR). It’s also a great time to try out one of our WINGS flights. Remember, many of the flights have published Alternate Airports, allowing you to earn your BVA pilot ratings at event airports!

Set the parking brake on the airliner and knock the cobwebs off your favorite general aviation aircraft! The General Aviation Fly-In visits locales across the country that are famous for their scenery and general aviation influence. While anything from a single engine Cessna to a regional jet is welcome in this event, ‘low and slow’ offers the best opportunity to experience the scenery. During this GA Fly-In event, local air traffic control is staffed at smaller airports with overlying radar controllers to provide VFR Flight Following and IFR services. Fly VFR closed traffic, practice instrument approaches, or fly VFR or IFR between the featured airports: the choice is yours. The event features the controlled airports in Maine: Bangor (KBGR) and Portland (KPWM). It’s also a great time to try out one of our WINGS flights. Remember, many of the flights have published Alternate Airports, allowing you to earn your BVA pilot ratings at event airports!

In the Regional Circuit, we staff up multiple of our airports to provide pilots with an opportunity to receive 'gate-to-gate' ATC service for the duration of the event. Pilots are encouraged to fly between the airports and make the return flight if time allows; however, traffic from other airports is welcome as well. The Regional Circuit always creates an immersive atmosphere with busy frequencies and congested airways between the host airports. This Regional Circuit features Boston (KBOS) and Albany (KALB) airports.

The airspace along the Long Island Sound is a bustling corridor full of small sea-side airports, and scenic getaways from the big city. Boston and New York ARTCCs are teaming up to staff the airports between Islip-MacArthur and Providence (ISP, PVD), including all the Class D airports (BDR, HVN, HTO, GON, OQU, and FRG).

Boston, New York, and Washington ARTCC's are teaming up for the 3rd annual Northeastern Corridor event on February 5th. Join us from 7-12pm ET (and maybe a bit after) for a heavy rush of traffic along one of the most congested corridors in the world. We'll be fully staffing Washington-Dulles, LaGuardia, Raleigh-Durham, Boston-Logan, Baltimore, Westchester Co., Bradley, Nantucket, and Providence airports.  Come visit some of the best airports the East Coast has to offer!

Montreal FIR and Boston ARTCC are teaming up for a Cross-Border Crossfire event during the latest installment of Montreal's Monthly event series. Take advantage of the continuous ATC Coverage between Montreal (CYUL) and Bradley (KBDL) airports and transit the border in your favorite aircraft. Event starts at 7pm ET (2359Z) and will end at 11pm ET (0400Z) on May 11th.

This week's BVA event features a special twist on our normal GA Fly-In series. On February 28th we're celebrating two great Living History foundations in the New England area: The Collings Foundation and the New England Air Museum. The New England Air Museum is an aerospace museum located at Bradley Intl. (KBDL), and The Collings Foundation is a non-profit located in a small town just outside Worcester. We encourage pilots to fly their favorite vintage or historical aircraft into KORH or KBDL from any of the surrounding staffed airports.

The city is situated at the mouth of the Providence River and at the head of the Narragansett Bay. The city's proximity to the Cape and other small coastal towns make it a great place to visit.  It’s also a great time to try out one of our WINGS flights. Remember, many of the flights have published Alternate Airports, allowing you to earn your BVA pilot ratings at event airports!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Come join ZDC as we staff up DCA for our annual Capital Christmas event on December 19th 2359z-0400z. We will be providing egg nog, hot chocolate and candy canes for our junior pilots. We hope to see you there!   BVARTCC will be staffing in support of our neighboring ARTCC.

Join ZDC on Sunday January 17th from 2100z-0100z as we prepare to witness a presidential inauguration. Come fly into DCA for a truly once every 4 (or 8 ) years experience. Tis the season for snow plows and de-ice trucks in the Northeast US. Come join in on the winter-ops action as we connect the NE region together in a one-of-a-kind event. ZNY and ZBW will be staffing Newark, Boston, Philadelphia, Bradley, Providence, Nantucket, and Bedford-Hanscom to provide a variety of destination and route options. The northeast corridor can get very congested, so we encourage pilots to utilize adjacent staffing in neighboring ARTCCs as well. The event starts at 7pm ET and will run until 11pm ET (2359-0400Z) on December 11th. Concurrently, ZBW will be hosting the 60 Hours of Boston Virtual ARTCC event. This is a one of a kind ATC marathon event! Boston Center will be staffed continuously for 60 hours throughout the second weekend in December. Please check the event posting for details.

Virtual USA Flying Club is hosting a Fly-In to the Plymouth airport (KPYM) in celebration of Turkey Day! BVARTCC will be staffing by providing event staffing for the surrounding areas. This event is a VFR Fly-In in celebration of Thanksgiving. Departures will be from your choice of airport, however arrivals should be planned to arrive at KPYM during the dinner rush (7-9:30 ET).

ZDC's yearly flagship event, Never Dull at Dulles, returns in 2020 for VATUSA's Friday Night Operations. Dulles was originally planned by the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and was dedicated by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. The iconic terminal, designed by Eero Saarinen, remains one of the airports most recognizable features where it stood as a symbol of the airports modern construction for its time featuring high speed turn offs and instrument approaches on all of its new, long runways to accommodate the new jet era. Since then Dulles has continued to expand with new terminal construction, new runways, and more traffic as it works together with Washington National Airport and Baltimore/Washington Airport to meet the growing air travel demands of Washington DC. Today, Dulles serves as the primary international gateway for the greater Washington Metropolitan area as well as an important hub for transcontinental flights across the US where it boasted 22 million passengers in 2016. vZDC ARTCC's controllers are pleased to be hosting Friday Night Ops for Never Dull at Dulles and we welcome pilots to enjoy any of the many domestic, international, cargo, and general aviation flights there are to choose from.   ZBW will be staffing in support of this event.

Begins: Friday, December 11, 11am ET (1600z) Ends: Sunday, December 13, 11pm ET (0400z)   60 Hours Kickoff FNO: Friday, December 11, 7-11pm ET (2400-0400z)   Join us for this one of a kind ATC marathon event! Boston Center will be staffed continuously for 60 hours throughout the first weekend in December.  As part of this unique tradition, we will also be hosting Friday Night Operations (FNO) to kick off the first night of this amazing weekend. This is one of our favorite events and we look forward to talking to you all throughout the weekend of continuous ATC coverage. There are no sign-ups or special actions required for pilots to participate: just connect and fly, any time you want, between 11:00am ET on Friday, December 11 through until 11:00pm ET on Sunday, December 13. How many flights can you get in before the end of the night on Sunday?

Due to the increase in traffic volumes, VATUSA has created an Open Mic Night to supplement FNO nights. They are having the entire US staff up on some Fridays. Welcome to VATUSA's Open Mic Night! For this event, we are encouraging ARTCCs to staff up (while not mandatory) and promote traffic to fly in the division as a whole and not just a couple of airports. Staffing will begin at 0000z and continue into the night. Come and try it out!

The historic capital of New York, Albany offers a great destination for those looking to take in the fall colors, fly around the Adirondack Mountains, or take a short trip east or south to one of the bigger metro areas. VATSIM's largest event series is Cross the Point East/Westbound. This year, for CTP Eastbound 2020, Boston-Logan Intl. Airport (KBOS) has been selected as one of the departure fields to host participating flights leaving across the Atlantic. If you would like more information on the event please see the official CTP website at ctp.vatsim.net. Event Date: Nov. 14th, 2020 1100-2300z (6am-6pm ET)   We will have full staffing at Boston beginning at approximately 5:30am ET. There will be delays at Boston for local and domestic flights given the high volume of international traffic we are expecting.   Please check back on this thread to view preferred routes for transatlantic flights.
