In the Regional Circuit, we staff up multiple of our airports to provide pilots with an opportunity to receive 'gate-to-gate' ATC service for the duration of the event. Pilots are encouraged to fly between the airports and make the return flight if time allows; however, traffic from other airports is welcome as well. The Regional Circuit always creates an immersive atmosphere with busy frequencies and congested airways between the host airports. This Regional Circuit features Providence (KPVD), Manchester (KMHT), and Bradley (KBDL).

The General Aviation Fly-In visits locales across the country that are famous for their scenery and general aviation influence. While anything from a single engine Cessna to a regional jet is welcome in this event, ‘low and slow’ offers the best opportunity to experience the scenery. During this GA Fly-In event, local air traffic control is staffed at smaller airports with overlying radar controllers to provide VFR Flight Following and IFR services. Fly VFR closed traffic, practice instrument approaches, or fly VFR or IFR between the featured airports: the choice is yours. The event features Nantucket (KACK), Martha's Vineyard (KMVY), Hyannis (KHYA), Cape Cod CGAS (KFMH), and New Bedford (KEWB) airports. It’s also a great time to try out one of our Pilot Ratings Program flights. Remember, many of the flights have published Alternate Airports, allowing you to earn your BVA and VATSIM pilot ratings at event airports!

VATSIM's largest event series is Cross the Point East/Westbound. This year, for CTP Westbound 2020, Boston-Logan Intl. Airport (KBOS) has been selected as one of the arrival fields to host participating flights from across the Atlantic. If you would like more information on the event please see the official CTP website at ctp.vatsim.net. Event Date: April 4th, 2020 1100-2300z (7am-7pm ET) Departing airfields: EDDK, EGCC, EHAM, EIDW, LIRF, LOWW Arriving Airfields: CYYZ, KBOS, KJFK, KMIA, KORD, KSFO We will have full staffing at Boston beginning at approximately 11:00am ET. We are also providing full coverage at Bradley/Hartford (KBDL) from 1-5pm ET for international diversions and local flights. We strongly encourage BVA members to FLY BDL! There will be delays at Boston for local and domestic flights given the high volume of international traffic we are expecting. Please check back on this thread on April 4 to view preferred routes for transatlantic flights.

Perhaps no sound more clearly evokes an image of wilderness than the honking of migrating geese. Canada geese have passed through Massachusetts on their journeys to and from their arctic breeding grounds in Canada for centuries. - Mass. Div. of Fisheries and Wildlife On April 17th we're taking flight for BVA's spring FNO. In partnership with CZYZ we're staffing up Boston (KBOS), Toronto (CYYZ), and Bradley (KBDL) airports for the flocks of planes bound to be about. Prepare for migratory bird activity, because this event will be is bound to be a honk'n good time!

This event is designed to put both our most skilled pilots and controllers to the test.  All traffic is welcome, from a piston prop remaining in the pattern to a long-haul airliner flying in from afar. Join us for a few touch-and-goes, low approaches, or a full-stop landing!

The airspace along the Long Island Sound is a bustling corridor full of small sea-side airports, and scenic getaways from the big city. Boston and New York ARTCCs are teaming up to staff the airports between Islip-Mac Arthur and Providence, including all the Class D airports (BDR, HVN, HTO, GON, OQU, and FRG).   02/15/2020 2-6pm ET, 19-23Z

Boston, New York, and Washington ARTCC's are teaming up for the annual Northeastern Corridor event on January 24th. Join us from 7-12pm ET (and maybe a bit after) for a heavy rush of traffic along one of the most congested corridors in the world. We'll be fully staffing Washington, JFK, and Boston-Logan for the evening, some come join the rush and make sure to leave enough time to visit all three.

Boston Virtual ARTCC will be hosting FNO on 12/6 as part of our 60 Hours weekend.

Begins: Friday, December 6, 11am ET (1600z) Ends: Sunday, December 8, 11pm ET (0400z) 60 Hours Kickoff FNO: Friday, December 6, 7-11pm ET (2400-0400z) Join us for this one of a kind ATC marathon event! Boston Center will be staffed continuously for 60 hours throughout the first weekend in December. As part of this unique tradition, we will also be hosting Friday Night Operations (FNO) to kick off the first night of this amazing weekend. This is one of our favorite events and we look forward to talking to you all throughout the weekend of continuous ATC coverage. There are no sign-ups or special actions required for pilots to participate: just connect and fly, any time you want, between 11:00am ET on Friday, December 6 through until 11:00pm ET on Sunday, December 8. How many flights can you get in before the end of the night on Sunday?

Thanksgiving is a time to count your blessings, not your carbs. On the Friday before Thanksgiving (Nov 22), Boston Virtual ARTCC and Cleveland ARTCC will be stuffing as many planes as we can into Boston Logan Airport (KBOS) and Detroit Metro Airport (KDTW). We hope to see a smorgasbord of traffic with more fixin's than Grandma's squash casserole, and there will be plenty of gravy and cranberry sauce to go around! The feast begins at 7pm ET / 2400 Z on Friday, November 22, and is scheduled to last for 4 hours. As always, we will try our best to stick around for leftovers, as long as the turkey hasn't gotten to us yet! Bring your empty belly and a full tank of Jet-A for a night that is sure to be sweeter than pumpkin pie!
