Okay seems like this is getting wayyyy out of hand. Chase you are wayy out of line attacking Cameron for what would be HIS opinion, and vice versa. I understand the argument here and i believe both sides are right AND both sides are wrong. I believe the reason Evan or someone from the A-team hasn't piped up yet is because this could be construed as a 'delicate' subject. You both need to cool down and probably let it slide. Luke make a very good point and i was actually just thinking that today while watching this thread heat up...y'all are so focused on Aspen being closed after 11PM and the Approaches not being allowed after dark...it is not THAT big of a deal, and it DEFINITELY does not need to result in comments on each others personal character! That is just uncalled for and childish. For you guys that don't like it, just don't fly it. End of story, nuff said. Just because we make an exception for an event, that should not in any way shape or form change who BVA is and what we stand for. Your right it isn't a game but it isn't real life either, it is a Simulation as such the parameters can sometimes be tweaked

I am REALLY sad i missed out on this also, especially since i would have gotten to fly with more MIL jets than just myself this time but due to the stupid hurricane i was needed down south. Hopefully everyone had a great time and there weren't any pulling of Virtual Private Pilot Certificates!!

Evan, off the top of my head i can't think of anything that would MAKE users want to adhere strictly to the SFRA other than if you bust it you get intercepted with the possibility of being booted but i see that having a somewhat negative effect. Offering points for certain things and having points deducted for messing those things up, and busting the SFRA means getting intercepted and escorted to Edwards which will end in pilot being disqualified...but you have it in the information on Challenges that its not to offer points so i guess thats a no-go. In the end run i see some pilots being idiots on purpose and with it being a virtual flight they really don't care if we intercept them and tell them to land because there is no consequence like there is in the real world, and as much as i love to fly my jet around i really don't want to deal with non-cooperative people. VRS has the beloved TACPAK in beta testing but even as such only other people with the VRS would see it as an F-18 and only other VRS planes would have the coding that would end the session with a successful missile hit for not cooperating...such are the poor constraints of FSX :(

Guys, maybe one of these RC Double-Plays, we can move the times to Central or Mountain time to help with the times for everyone? with it being on Sunday it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience to be 1-2hrs ahead in Eastern and 1-2hrs behind in Pacific instead of total 3hrs behind in Pacific no matter what.

yeah, the HUD on that 737 looks amazing!

Oh and there were no comm problems here, great atc the whole way.

Well I will keep it short and sweet, I had a great time last night and the weather at both airports was horrible which was a very good thing in this case! It showed me just how inefficient I am with flying a real ILS approach in the hornet, usually I just look out the cockpit and can make the slight adjustments but last night I saw nothing but clouds and almost ended up coming down on 4L! Lol All in all it was a great experience and I would love to repeat it.

Shyflyguy, Evan is right when it comes to doing 3 or more airports for a RC event, i threw up this idea earlier last year and did a lot of the scenery on it and advertising as well, while it was a pretty good event we just dont have enough steady pilots to keep it an interesting event. Out of the 1000+ members BVA has, we can only seem to keep an average of 20-30 active pilots for RC's which makes it very slow for controllers. As per your DFW idea, i currently live in the DFW area and would love to get another event here soon, last year we had a South Texas getaway featuring Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, with a DFW to ?? RC. I myself flew into the DFW TRACON and landed at Fort Worth JRB in a C-17 but a lot of traffic went into the DFW area to either DFW or LOV. Maybe an idea for a DFW event would be a GA fly-in, there are atleast 8-10 airports inside the DFW TRACON which would make it pretty hairy for the radar controllers and probably TONS of fun for any GA/RJ traffic, especially with the great approach's that ADS and LOV use (right around/through and into the heart of the Dallas City Metroplex).

Awesome Chris! thanks for the re-cap

Well this new job pretty much has me permanently on the night shift so my participation in the RC's and other weekly event will pretty much be non-existant but I love the DJ's and would like to get some recaps/feedback/comments from pilots and controllers on how tonights event went??!! I really wanted to be there because I was born in SLC and my little brother is serving a mision there. So anyways let's hear it!!!

And as per request, attached (hopefully) is an update for KDFW brought to you by your always faithful BVATC Scenery Design Team!! Updates include the new terminal, extended Rwy 17C-34C to current length, changed the M3 fast taxiway from current FSX status "Closed" to a finished actual taxiway, and made some other adjustments. This release is V1.0 so if there's any issues just let me know. OH! and i have not yet compiled it into an EXE file yet but when you open it, instructions of how to install the files to the correct location are in the ReadMe file.

So here's the initial layout for the first triple airport RC to see how it goes. The event will feature Atlanta-KATL, Middle Georgia Regional-KMCN, and Columbus Metropolitan-KCSG. With the short distances between these airports, and pending a good turn out, this RC will be one for the books! The layout for the event will be as follows: Max altitude 16,000ft. Atlanta Approach/Departure: At/Above 7000 126.55 Atlanta Approach/Departure: Below 7000 125.5 KATL - Atlanta International Airport Clearance:118.10 Ground:121.90 Tower:119.10 TO KMCN: SOONE TO KCSG: SOTWO KMCN - Middle Geordia Regional Airport Clearance:118.15 Ground:121.65 Tower:128.20 TO KATL: MCN-V323-HUSKY MCN-V35-SINCA.SINCA5 TO KCSG: TALBO CSG PRATZ KCSG - Columbia Metropolitan Airport Clearance:118.20 Ground:121.75 Tower:120.1 TO KATL: TIROE LGC-HONIE-WOLMN GRANT-V20-SINCA.CANUK7 TO KMCN: PRATZ Now this is just the initial layout and Routes/Positons will be subject to change.

post it up in the events section and we'll see if we can get things going! sounds like a good iea.

actually moving BVATC to Europe is on the schedule, its still in the works and evan can correct me if i'm wrong but i think we were planning on it being there for like a month or something, give you brits some time to fly on your own turf!! :D
-
yep yep!!! sounds like a great idea!! i'd staff/fly the whole event without a doubt!!!!
-
true true...we might could give it a shot...if anything it would be a good test to see how it goes! :D i'm down.

How about a getaway for the south next? there's some great stuff to see down here on the coast, Galveston, Corpus Christi, South Padre Island, heck even just flying around houston can be fun, especially with its TWO international airports.
-
Your idea sounds good now but from a controllers perspective that won't work because the amount of time it will take will depend on how many planes, everything going smooth, everyone being on time. Heck even a super strong tail wind down to DC would screw up the process. Now if it was a longer flight then yeah I can see it working if we staff 2 center controllers as an ICSH kind of deal, but IMHO I don't think it would work out in-game, just too many variables.

And as to leadbottoms request, i finished the taxiways and added the runway numbers. ENJOY!
-
so for all the rest of you people who are just totally intimidated by the KDEN-Denver Airport taxiway diagram, i had some spare time the other day and decided to make this legend to help out with identifying the taxiway names that are closer to the terminal.
