In March, 2020, we found out: the result is a massive increase in new community members and a large influx of members returning to our ranks from years past. By the end of 2020, it was no surprise that the year saw almost 200 controllers and 1,100 active members. And with almost 46,000 aircraft movements at KBOS, we thought that 2020—for all the wrong reasons—was going to be the busiest year in our organization’s history. We were wrong.
