Position Posting – Events Team

 

Purpose

Boston Virtual ARTCC (BVA) is currently seeking members to join our Events Team, who will be able to aid the Events Coordinator with management of all ARTCC/community events, act as a liaison between virtual airlines and the ARTCC, and more.    

 

Key Accountabilities

• Reports to BVA Events Coordinator 
• Assists as a liaison between neighboring ARTCCs and virtual airlines/flying groups for event related matters
• Assists with event planning and maintaining of event postings (BVA ATC Hub, myVATSIM and VATUSA)
• Assists with facilitating event operational plans and staffing requirements
• Prepare pre-event planning and briefing document
• Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

• VATSIM S2 rating or higher
• Active member of the network in good standing with a clean history 
• Capable of working well in team-oriented environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on attention to detail

• Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines

• Access to and strong ability with Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Word

 

Preferred Skills

• VATSIM S3 rating or higher
• Demonstrated experience developing operational event plans and execution
• Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience
• Access to graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop
• Prior experience serving BVA or another VATSIM community in a volunteer role
