BVA to Host Regional Circuit on msFlights.net Server
Devon Hathaway replied to Evan Reiter's topic in Events
Sounds like fun tonight! Using teamspeak to make sure we don't get comm lag? -
People have their favorites lol, I myself am a fan of Bradley, but recently have gotten to liking Albany

Okay so the BVA Military will be doing a small showcase, but for you all to see the substitution correctly (and not a bunch of learjets) you'll need to copy the linked aircraft.cfg file into your SimObjects/Airplanes/FA-18 folder. You can overwrite the current one but i recommend making a backup. aircraft.cfg Additionally, airshow visitors are encouraged to download the FSX Blue Angels jet; it's a different aircraft than the default FSX Acceleration F/A-18. Visitors may also download the FSX Thunderbirds' aircraft as well. If you plan to view the show, the best place is from the Tower at KBAZ. If you don't have the Deluxe version of FSX (and therefore can't login as an ATC), then you can also download BOB by Orbx. BOB is a first-person utility that basically acts like a person. The advantage of BOB is that it's invisible to others, so you won't be creating any "lag" for our performers: http://cloud.orbxsystems.com/orbxfreewa ... BOB110.zip

Cape Cod Presidential TFR: August 9 - 17, 2014
Devon Hathaway replied to Evan Reiter's topic in Announcements
John, you can actually find ATC recordings of intercept aircraft escorting an unidentified aircraft to the ground in California last year during a TFR, so it actually happens a lot...and these guys WILL fire if aircraft is non-compliant, it just hasn't happened yet. -
Sounds like fun! Might have to intercept people who break the ADIZ without a flight plan :)
-
Hate to bust bubbles but I'm right there with Cameron, have you tested it before announcing it?
-
I think this has been brought up before...worse than the repaint problem is the substitution problem, and then throw in glitching problems on top of that and it can pretty much ruin the event
-
The VFR Challenges are driven by Luke (shyflyguy) who is not an A-team member or admin...Just an fyi
-
Evan, can you put a link or some information about the download on the main event page as some members may not frequent the Event section of the forums?

Good Evening Folks! The BVA Military will be conducting a fly-by at the start of the GA Fly-In on Sunday at 1:45 at Nantucket. In the link below is a modified CFG file that will need to go in your /Microsoft Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes/FA-18 folder, make a backup of the original, copy and paste this aircraft.cfg there overwriting the existing one. This will allow you to see us as the default hornet as we fly instead of Learjets (the normal substitution for some reason). http://www.mediafire.com/view/q117p6j4ta1v3wz/aircraft.cfg

Same here, just haven't been able to yet

And plan on that space being used...muahaha! :)

I'm glad my name isn't on the list lol -
And that identifier is currently available :)

So this RC was the day after my wifes accident so I wasn't able to attend but I really REALLY wanted to. Can you guys fill me in on how it went.
-
Now that looks/sounds like fun
-
Boundaries? It would be an all day thing if a bunch of your team members filled from BOS to SFO and back...

Yeah I know! I was up soloing one time, when I took off wind was calm, after a couple hours in the practice area I decided to head back...ATIS said wind was like 090 @ 15G29 (rwy 12 active)...I was like oh sh** now what...well gotta get it on the ground. Good line up and as soon as I had 1 tire on the ground it gusted and blew me off the runway almost slamming my wing into the ground, second try I lined up all the way on the left side and basically ran a Navy approach and flew it right into the runway. Spooky lol
-
Chase there's no preaching going on, I'm right there with you on ideas to make it a better community, like I said it was my opinion...lol that was the first time I've ever even said it. Sucks about being grounded...that wind sounds really fun to play in and practice uber skillz :p
-
OH ITS STILL WARM BABY!!! Thats not attacking Cameron? That sounds like a pretty snide remark to me bro. Lol how do you feel like that Chase? Am i admin? No. Do i make policy? No. So how could my view when i said "if you don't like it blah blah" be construed as you still shouldn't do it...i'm at a loss for common sense thinking. Ok now let me lay out a base here...i do NOT want to piss anyone off (probably means i should have stayed out of this one) but i do like objective thinking threads (his view vs my view, etc.)...it is very interesting to see how people take certain things contrary to what the poster probably meant them to mean. SO!! In the end i want to still be cool with all of you. Deal?
-
Woohoo! FLAME ON! lol. Dang i haven't been part of a good thread battle in a loooong time, this is when all the good smileys get to come into play Ah children, that was just my point of view, but that's sometimes my mentality, and i can say that because i am not admin and i DO NOT MAKE POLICY around here. Chase your taking it all WAYYY too seriously, your retorts seem to be based on what WE say is what goes...your wasting your breath man. How i sometimes view situations is if I don't like the rules(rules in general not particularly BVA), then I just don't participate in the nonsense (unless i have to by state/federal law...like paying Obama-taxes UGH). Ameri767, I wasn't saying BVA isn't realistic or anything of the sort, i would actually say we are one of THE most professional groups out there, but we do make sacrifices on realism for some things, but it is also up to us the PIC to make it as real...or not...as we want. Flame On...
