Houston Operation Overload [11/14/2015 22-02Z]

Recommended Posts

It's probably pretty well known that the majority of VATSIM operations are IFR, mainly air carrier and large cargo flights.  The Houston ARTCC trying something new, and is holding an event that is designed to staff every (controlled) airport within their boundaries.  They will open up the floodgates to all controllers by giving a one-day "visiting status" to any VATUSA controller, and are encouraging a ton of traffic to come and fly, especially to the lesser known airports.  This might be a great way for a ton of BVA "light aircraft" pilots to have some fun and really boost the traffic into lesser-known airfields to help make this event a resounding success.  More info here:  http://www.vatusa.net/forums/index.php?topic=4819.0

That sounds like a great event and I love the opportunity to fly on my "home turf". Let's hope the controllers brush up on the local landmarks and FBOs! :)

Hooks FTW! :)

Just a reminder to all controllers and pilots that this is approaching. I will not be able to attend, however, Houston still needs to fill a lot of positions! If you're interested in being part of a FULL ARTCC of ATC, then be sure to check it out and sign up. Keep in mind some positions require checkouts.
