  2. 60 Hours is back. Join us for this one of a kind ATC marathon event! As part of this unique tradition, Boston Center will be staffed continuously from December 6 at 11am ET to December 8 at 11pm ET (6 Dec 1600z - 9 Dec 0400z). We will be hosting FNO on that Friday night as well. We look forward to seeing you all there!

  7. On November 2nd, 2019 from 1700z-0100z VATUSA will host the 2019 Transcon Event. This event will feature east and west coast fields for departures and arrivals and have En Route ARTCCs staffed as well. This is a great opportunity to experience a transcontinental flight with full ATC along the way. We are planning to have 4 eastern departure fields/arrival fields and 3-4 western arrival/departure fields. Pilots can fly between any of the select fields and be guaranteed top down ATC services. VATUSA will provide a pilot briefing closer to the event which will have preferred routing and other details/instructions to insure the events runs smoothly. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. Please include Transcon 2019 in the subject. We look forward to seeing everyone on Nov 2! Flights will depart from KSEA or KLAX and track eastbound across the U.S. to one of the four arrival airport including - KIAD, KMCO, KMIA, KJFK, and KBOS. Enroute ATC will be provided and preferred routing will be posted as well as a pilot brief closer to the event. We look forward ot everyone coming out and enjoying a night of flying.

  13. Set the parking brake on the airliner and knock the cobwebs off your favorite general aviation aircraft! The General Aviation Fly-In visits locales across the country that are famous for their scenery and general aviation influence. While anything from a single engine Cessna to a regional jet is welcome in this event, ‘low and slow’ offers the best opportunity to experience the scenery.During the event, local air traffic control is staffed at smaller Class C and D airports, with overlying radar controllers to provide VFR Flight Following and IFR services. Pilots are encouraged to fly between the two airports and make the return flight if time allows; however, traffic from other airports is welcome as well.   17. The Boys are Back with another exciting event in The State of Mass-- er.. Connecticut!Boston Virtual ARTCC invites you to this Saturday night gala, hosted at Bradley International Airport (KBDL). Bradley will be fully staffed on Saturday, September 7 starting at 2300z, with controllers ready to make airplanes dance a Spicy McHaggis Jig around the Y90 TRACON. We will be online for 4 hours or more - plenty of time to fly in, get a Rose Tattoo, say “Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya”, and then be Going Out in Style. See you there!
  18. Live from Nashua, NH: Boston Virtual ARTCC presents the 20th Annual Boston Tea Party! Welcome to the 20th Annual Boston Tea Party LIVE! On Saturday, August 10, our controllers will come together in Nashua, NH to bring you seven hours of uninterrupted ATC coverage across the entire Boston ARTCC! In addition to Boston (KBOS) we will have staffing at many of our regional airports such as Bradley (KBDL), Providence (KPVD), Syracuse (KSYR), Portland (KPWM), Albany (KALB), and Nantucket (KACK). The fun will begin at 12:00 PM ET on August 10 and continue for 7 hours. The event will end promptly at 7:00 PM ET (2300 Z) so please plan your flights accordingly! The facility where we will be controlling will not be available beyond this time. Pilots are highly encouraged to read Boston Virtual ARTCC's Letter to Airmen before flying! During the event, pilots may also participate in a fun game called Tea Party Poker! Participating pilots can receive virtual poker cards after completing eligible flights. Pilots holding the best hands at the end of the event will have the opportunity to win great prizes from our Event Sponsors, which include HiFi, orbx, RealityXP, Rex Simulations, and Thrustmaster! KF aced a very challenging OTS at PVD to complete his S3 training and, pending completion of the VATUSA S3 exam, is certified to work Class C Approach! Collin has found his home here with BVA and has been one of our most reliable tower cab controllers. His hard work and dedication has paid off and I'm excited that he will be joining us on the radar scopes as well. Great work Collin and congrats!!!
