  1. Join me in congratulating Bob Zolto on completing his Class C Ground training and joining the team as our newest S1. Bob showed excellent work ethic and dedication during his training and I'm excited to have him on the team. Congrats, Bob!
  2. As President Harry S. Truman used to say, "the buck stops here". Whether you're Pilot-in-Command or the Boston Final controller, you make the decisions that matter. Make the right decision on Friday, April 26th and fly into a fully staffed Boston Logan Airport (on the ROBUC, JFUND, or OOSHN arrival) starting at 1900ET/2300z.
  3. Join me in welcoming Skylar Morgan (MN) to the team as our newest Class C Ground controller! Skylar completed his training at PWM on Saturday morning, and admittedly, I was going to post this during my 24 hours on CTR but I forgot. At any rate, Skylar will make a valuable addition to the team, he's got a lot of personality on frequency and we look forward to seeing him on the network soon!!
  4. VATSIM has announced the date for Cross the Pond Westbound 2019, which will be held on March 30. It is yet to be determined whether BOS will be an arrival field for this event; however, BVA will likely have a major presence in this event either way. Please monitor this thread for further information as the event draws closer.
  5. Join me in congratulating Nathan Rankin (RI) on completing his Class B Tower certification! Nathan's hard work has paid off and he is now authorized to control Boston Tower during on-peak times, a major accomplishment in his relatively short career with us thus far. Keep up the great work buddy!

  7. Join me in congratulating Kevin Woo (WO) on earning his Class C Ground certification! This young man’s hard work has paid off and yesterday afternoon he passed his OTS at PWM. Great work Kevin! Now, it’s time to put what you’ve learned into practice on the network.
  8. It’s my pleasure to welcome Cameron Peterson (PS) to the roster as our newest S1. This kid did an outstanding job during his OTS at PWM Tuesday evening. He’s got a wicked scan already and refuses to break under pressure. Good indications of a bright future ahead. Great work buddy! PS: Don’t forget to keep up the good habits you’ve developed such as reviewing SOPs carefully and listening to ATC Twitch streams to help master your phraseology.
  9. His name suggests he’s from the BAyou but he’s actually a BAhston local. We dealt with some tricky scenarios in the Sweatbox but he learned how to BAlance his workload and not let himself get BAffled. Now, his new S1 BAdge will get him into any of our Class C and D tower cabs - join me in welcoming Tom Boudreau to the BVA team!
  10. D’awww.. thanks for the nice post ;D Also, you get an A+ for the organic chemistry jokes. I feel like I’m more of an electrophile, but I never turn down an opportunity to give my lone pair to a vacant orbital. Seriously though, becoming a part of this community was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Big thanks to the training staff for all the hours of my stubbornness you’ve dealt with. And to all the pilot members who bring us the consistent traffic. See you all around!
  11. Thanks guys! I want to return the thanks to AM, RT, GD, HI, and LE for all the hours you’ve put into training me this year. And all the others who have helped along the way - RB for “spontaneous” military ops training, DL same for helicopters, BN for interjecting snide remarks providing valuable insight, RQ for yelling at me throughout my first regional circuit (hey, it put some hair on my chest), HS for teaching me how to make 8 pilots cry during tea party, PI for talking me out of drinking an entire bottle of fireball (ok I still drank it, but more slowly) and to the rest of you guys who I am sure have had to deal with something I screwed up at some point - it’s been a fun journey. Thank you for your commitment to this team!
  12. I'm very GLad to welcome our newest Class C Ground controller, Andre Giel! Andre GLeaned a substantial amount of knowledge and skill from his training and independent study, allowing him to manage a heavy workload tonight without GLancing over any incorrect readbacks or bad flight plans! Instead of letting things become unGLued under pressure, Andre maintained his composure and shined brighter than the tower GLass in the evening sun. Enjoy the Class C Ground GLamour!
