  1. I won't be able to make the first flight due to baseball, and won't be home until ~8:30, but if anyone wants to do a second leg I'd love to. I'd be; Krikor Hajian B738/L American (callsign Unknown) DFW EDIT (second option, I'm undecided) Krikor Hajian B733/L Southwest to DAL Both later departures (900)
  2. Congrats LN! I know you worked really hard for A90, can't wait to fly and control with you on the network peak times now!
  3. Everyone, please join me in congratulating Jared West - WT on passing his Class C/D ground OTS and VATUSA S1 exam! WT was a model student, he breezed through the OTS, dishing out clearances, taxiing planes, handling helicopters and PRPs. WT is the latest addition to our active controllers and we are very happy to have him aboard. Welcome to the team Jared!
  4. Glad you enjoyed it as well Andrew! I'm a huge fan of these minor events we run (and also have a special love of Portland) and was really impressed with the amount of traffic we got. I think that it really shows we CAN make a difference to the networks phobia of class C/D airports, and the recent FNO in ELP/TUS is another sign that maybe people are starting to branch out. I really enjoyed teh event and look forward to the next of our events (I forget what it is). Also, to echo Camden, thank you guys for staffing up New York so well! The impressive N90 and LGA staffing created a mini-crossfire, which I think is really cool!
  5. Everyone, please help me in congratulating Ramon Van Voorst (VT) for passing his Class C TWR OTS and VATUSA S2 exam! VT did a fantastic job sequencing those tiny Cessna's with jumbo jets, and I look forward to seeing what he can do on the network! Congrats Ramon!!!
  6. Everyone, please help me congratulate Sean Doyle, DY, on passing his Boston Tower certification. DY did a fantastic job of moving planes and I look forward to seeing him online more and seeing him in the dark room. Congrats DY!
  7. Everyone please help me congratulate Nils Backe (NB) on passing his Boston Tower OTS! NB did a fantastic job, smoothly moving departures, jets, props, and turning a gaggle of aircraft into a very empty Logan. Everything was taken in stride, and a full Boston Tower OTS is no small feat. Congrats NB!
  8. Less than 200 last time I checked, most to Minnie. Anyone else who wants one get it soon. Callsign: EAL1738 SELCAL: AB-GH From/To: EGKK/KJFK at FL330-FL350 TOT: 13:20:00Z
  9. I think the fact that it was a class D facility added to some of the problems experienced. I know that ZDV simulates non-radar class D towers as they would be in real life, one in one out. I couldn't tell if this was being done but based on the fact that the 12nm between me and the guy ahead of me wasn't enough for them, that's my guess. Also, the tower needed IFR releases as per the norm out of a D, but the overlying center controller was so busy that some people were in the line short of the runway for over an hour. Many people (myself included) shut down the engines to conserve fuel because of how long a wait it looked like it would be. I think it was an interesting idea, but I saw a lot more 737-airliner type traffic than we do at home Regional Circuits and I was a little disappointed: the whole reason we do these events is for the GA traffic, not more 737's. The controlling in general aside, I think ZDV wasn't prepared to experience this level of concentrated traffic on such short a route. I had an enjoyable time, but for those people who spent 2/3 of the event holding short of the runway, or trying to cross it, this probably was a big let down. I personally like the BVA ones a little bit more, just because it's interesting to learn more about local procedures in depth and show some of the smaller, class C and D facilities some love. That said, if we can get reliably high quality ATC in other ARTCC's, I'm not opposed to that either.
  10. Congrats WG! It's been awesome working with you and knowing you during your tenure so far, I look forward to controlling and flying on the network! Keep up the hard work man!
  11. Whoops, that's what happens when I only read the title on my phone :p
  12. This is an awesome idea! I look forward to flying a crowded event in foreign (to me) airspace. Awesome job ZDV and anyone else who helped make this happen!
  13. I'll be there, can take tower (or A90 if monitored).
  14. Congrats HO! Your enthusiasm and talent make you a perfect fit, and you have done an incredible job from what I have seen! I enjoyed flying with you, and can't wait until I can give you a call on 34.7! Now if only I could figure out why my 777 won't descend via the QUABN......;)
  15. Congrats ON! Great job, keep up the hard work!
  16. Everyone, please join me in congratulating Stellios Pistoftzian (PA) for PAssing his Class C Ground OTS and obtaining the VATSIM S1 rating. PA cruised through our session on PWM_GND, cleaning up routes, correcting WAFDOFs, and pushing tin! The Class C Ground and S1 ratings give the student their first chance to work on the network with live planes, and I am sure PA will thrive and grow as he controls! Congratulations PA! See you on the scopes.
  17. Congrats WA! Looking forward to controlling with you on the network!
  18. Welcome to the US and BVA! Maybe you can teach me a thing or two about ICAO procedures haha, see ya on the scopes!
  19. Awesome job NB! Can't wait to staff it up with you!
