Staff Announcement: Training Administrator
Camden Bruno replied to Francis Dube's topic in Announcements
Mike, we can't thank you enough for your commitment and dedication to the position of TA over the past few years. You did a superb job and I look forward to continuing to work with you as both a controller and instructor. Evan, congrats on the new position! Great to have you onboard and I look forward to the future and what it will hold. Since you're my supervisor now, does that mean I have to call you "sir"? -
If it happens then I wouldn't be able to make it until after 9PM or so, if at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Voting for Cross the Pond Eastbound 2015 airfields are now open! Be sure to vote for Boston Logan (BOS). Login at http://ctp.vatsim-uk.co.uk and click 'Airfield Voting' to do so. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Cross the Pond, there are two events per year. One which takes place in March (Westbound) and one which takes place in October (Eastbound). Usually about 8 airfields are chosen based off of votes (4 departure fields and 4 arrival fields). Pilots book flights weeks before the event and plan their flights from a departure field (in this case on the east coast of the US) to an arrival field (in this case in western Europe). This is by far THE biggest VATSIM event, which thousands of people participate in as both pilots and controllers. Virtually the entire east coast of the US is staffed along with western Europe and all of Atlantic Oceanic control (Gander and Shanwick). If you aren't into long-hauls, take the opportunity to fly as a non-event pilot and have just as much fun making your regional flights. We have been selected for many years in the past as a CTP Eastbound departure field, so hopefully that is the case this year. If so, we need your help to staff ZBW to the max (@ controllers). Take a look at what CTP Westbound brought us this past March. Maybe this will drive you to vote for Boston Logan (BOS) as your departure field this October: Thank you for voting!

Please just us in congratulating Krikor Hajian (HI) for passing his Class C/D DEL/GND OTS exam. HI dealt with everything I threw at him and managed not to scratch any tin. Great job all around and looking forward to working with you.

Please join us in congratulating Clif Whitten (WN) on passing his Boston Approach (A90) OTS today. It has been quite the week for WN, as he recently was appointed a mentor as well. To prove his hard work, all I will say is that we used the "Very busy" aircraft file on the Sweatbox (keep in mind this was created by DO). He handled everything from a huge influx of Boston arrivals to pesky little Piper's making their way into and out of uncontrolled fields. Clif has come a long way and will continue to do great things within the ARTCC, now both as a controller AND mentor. Congrats, WN!

Congrats, WN! Welcome to the staff team, great to have you aboard :D

For any controllers interested in attending tonight, the password to the VATUSA TeamSpeak has been posted here and will not be posted to this thread, as this is a public topic.

Please join us in congratulating Alec Liberman (LN), as today the training staff cleared him into the Boston Class B airspace and passed him on his Boston Local Control (Tower) Over-The-Shoulder exam. LN proved himself as he dealt with everything thrown at him, including but not limited to wake turbulence and aircraft type separation, conflict avoidance, pointouts, helicopter ops, LAHSO ops, and even the VFR traffic that decided they wanted to fly into Boston with the airliners. Overall a great job by LN and a well-deserved promotion. Have fun as head of the tower cab!

That was actually PG. I think he had a long day and wanted to relax lol.

HA, I get it. Parental guidance (PG). Congrats, RC! Rocked those test corrections as well. Keep up the great work.

Please join us in congratulating Connor Tam on passing his Class C/D DEL/GND OTS exam. Connor did a fantastic job pushing tin, clearing aircraft, sequencing traffic, and much more while catching all of my tricky mistakes along the way. TM will be a valued addition to our team and I look forward to seeing him on the scopes soon. Congrats, TM!

Rest in the sweetest peace, Mike. The memories and laughs we have all shared will never be forgotten. Whether it was blue balls, decking MR after Tea Party in DO's suite, or a whitty pun, he always knew how to make us all laugh. It will be very hard to move on after losing someone we were in touch with so often and who had such an impact and meant so much to our group, however, we will do so as a team, community, and family. As DB stated, we will move forward but never forget. Again, thank you, Mike for your dedication, humor, hard work, and so much more.

I see a new I1 on the horizon
Camden Bruno replied to Francis Dube's topic in Recognizing Excellence
Thank you, guys! Really appreciate it. I?m very excited to take on this new position and to continue to assist the training department to ensure vZBW maintains its reputation of the ARTCC where excellence is routine. I know I've said this plenty of times on these forums, but as students should know I have an open-door policy. If you ever have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. MOCHA HAGoTDI. P.S. Students beware: I'll be asking DO and DB for tips and tricks on how to run sweatboxes as haunting as theirs. Just keep that in mind ;) :P -
Congrats, VO! Great job today and i'm looking forward to your future here at vZBW. Welcome to the cab and radar room!

Camden Bruno replied to Mike Willey's topic in Recognizing Excellence
KZ, It's been a pleasure to watch you grow as a controller and student. You have without a doubt proved yourself and earned this certification. Your hard work has shown and from what I have heard you did a fantastic job at the event this past Sunday. Keep up the great work and we look forward to seeing you on the scopes during peak times!
