Available Bookings - Cross the Pond Eastbound 2017
Camden Bruno replied to Camden Bruno's topic in Events
Mark, We'll have to coordinate timing to be exact to ensure that I am able to drop it and you're able to obtain it within a couple seconds of each other. Or else someone else could snag it. That said, send me an email at [email protected] and we'll find a time to meet on TeamSpeak for the exchange. I'll bring the goods...lol. -
Many of our members, even if they're not planning on flying the event, book flights as a part Cross the Pond for the purpose of saving a flight for another BVA Member incase others were not able to get a slot in time before they ran out. This thread is for those with Cross the Pond Bookings who are looking to give their booking to someone else. I will continually update this top post with available bookings, whether or not they have been taken, etc. Post here if you have a booking you'd like to give up OR if you do not have a booking and are seeking one. If you have one, please include the departure field, destination field, and TOT (time of takeoff, otherwise known as slot time). Welcome back! Your incentive to keep cranking these certifications out is the fact that 60 Hours, FNO, and Cross the Pond are all coming up.

Camden Bruno replied to Camden Bruno's topic in Events
UPDATE! Boston has been selected as one of the featured departure airports for Cross the Pond Eastbound 2017! VATSIM Cross The Pond Eastbound 2017 will take place on Saturday 14th October starting at about 7am ET. About Cross The Pond Cross The Pond takes place twice a year (westbound in March, eastbound in October) and is one of the busiest and most sought after events in the VATSIM calendar. It is a mass crossing of the North Atlantic with full ATC offered the whole way, with heavy traffic levels guaranteed for your whole flight. Which airports are taking part? Departure airfields: New York John F. Kennedy International (KJFK) Toronto Pearson (CYYZ) Boston (KBOS) Washington Dulles (KIAD) Orlando International (KMCO) Arrival fields: Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM) London Gatwick (EGKK) Düsseldorf (EDDL) Oslo Gardermoen (ENGM) Copenhagen (EKCH) Dublin (EIDW) How, and when, can I book? Bookings will open on Saturday 30th September at 1500z at the Cross The Pond website. There will be approximately 600 slots, and these will be allocated on as first come first served basis. Please note that the 600 slots sold out in 37 minutes last time round, so get in there quickly when bookings open! Can I fly without a slot? You sure can, but expect delays, particularly on the ground, and your planned route may be amended. If flying without a slot, it's important that you check this forum thread the night before the event as we'll be posting compulsory routings for you to use for your flight. How do I keep up to date with further announcements, and get involved on the day? We'll be using this thread to post announcements, so please do subscribe to it. We'll also be highlighting major updates on our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Cross The Pond has a dedicated Twitter account which will be posting important updates right up to, and during, the event. Use the hastag #vatsimctp - get involved! We look forward to seeing you there. -
We were saving that for NWR, duh!

One more day to vote! -
In late October, VATSIM hosts Cross The Pond Eastbound, the annual flight across the Atlantic Ocean from North America to Europe. Voting for Cross the Pond (CTP) Eastbound 2017 airfields is now open! Be sure to vote for Boston Logan (BOS). Login at http://ctp.vatsim.net and click 'Airfield Voting' to do so. You are only allowed to select one departure field and one arrival field, so choose wisely! We have been selected for many years in the past as a CTP Eastbound departure field, so hopefully that will be the case this year. Voting closes on Thursday, September 14th at 2359z. Please keep an eye on this thread for more information as the event draws closer. Thank you for voting BOS!

It's really hard to come up with a pun on RQ
Camden Bruno replied to Evan Reiter's topic in Recognizing Excellence
No goal horn? Wow, you must've done really well considering how trigger happy RT is with that thing. Keep up the amazing work, RQ. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance does not go unnoticed. I guess π better start working on his S3 ASAP before RQ starts stealing BDL_TWR from him every Tuesday. -
Title is cheesy but it made me smile. GR, congrats and look forward to controlling with you!

Please join me in congratulating Jonathan Halverson (HS) for passing his Class C DEL/GND OTS this evening. HS did a fantastic job, dealing with everything from helicopters to brand new student pilots attempting their PRP VFR 1 flights. He managed to get through it all without having any planes exchange paint! Keep up the great work, HS, and I look forward to working with you on frequency in the near future. Best,

The controllers and administration at Boston Virtual ARTCC want to thank all of the pilots who supported the 18th annual Boston Tea Party. We are excited to announce that we reached over 230 operations at Boston Logan International (BOS) in the 7 hours that we were staffed - this number does not include the dozens of other airports that had coverage. This number also matches the real-world traffic numbers that real-world Boston Logan controllers were handling during the same time period. Please stay tuned for more information regarding the results of the Tea Party Airport Poker competition. We had over 40 participants, and will reach out to the winners via email within the next few days. Without your support, we could not accomplish such a spectacular event for 18 consecutive years. Thank you, and we hope you enjoyed as much as we did!

Tomorrow is National Aviation Day in the United States. What better way to celebrate than by joining Boston Virtual ARTCC's biggest event of the year? Starting at 12pm ET tomorrow, BVA's controllers will be staffing up our entire airspace for 7 straight hours of air traffic control, most of which will be provided live! Tea Party is usually the busiest event of the year, and more than 30 controllers will be coming together in person to support it. As you know, pilots participating in Tea Party are eligible to win great prizes just by flying our airspace! For each landing within ZBW, pilots can private message Burlington Approach (type ".msg BTV_APP" in your pilot client) to request a card. The more flights you do, the better your chances. To be eligible, flights must terminate in ZBW airspace, and internal flights that start with one Approach facility (e.g., Boston Approach) would need to land within another approach's airspace (e.g., Bradley Approach) to qualify. For all of the details, rules, and a list of the great prizes available to be won, visit the Boston Tea Party page of our website. While our main airport (KBOS) is always a popular draw, we encourage pilots to visit ZBW's many other regional airports. We are planning to have full, top-down coverage at Bradley (KBDL), Providence (KPVD), and Nantucket (KACK), and will have staffing at several other airports across the ARTCC. Join us online beginning at 12pm ET tomorrow.

Less than 48 hours until controllers begin arriving in Nashua, NH for the 18th annual Boston Tea Party! Interested in winning 1 of 15 fantastic prizes? Visit the Boston Tea Party 2017 webpage to learn how. Before flying, please read this post for very important information. We'll see you this weekend!
-
As always, it depends on the specific PRP flight (where you're going, what it entails), timing, workload, etc. On the day of, spawn up and ask the controller if we can accommodate. Given the amount of controllers that will be online, I do not see PRP flights being a problem (in fact, this is a perfect time to do them), but if you request it when workload happens to be at it's highest for the controllers, they may deny it and ask you to wait a certain length of time.

We're about a week and half away from The 18th Annual Boston Tea Party and are happy to announce that we've added not one, not two, but THREE licenses of the recently-released Aerosoft Digital Aviation CRJ700/900X to our list of Tea Party Poker prizes! To recap, the total list of prizes that YOU could win are; One of 3 Licenses to a Aerosoft CRJ 700/900 X One License to any FlyTampa Scenery Product, including the soon-to-be-released KBOS V4 One of 5 Licenses to a HiFi Simulation Technologies product One of 3 Licenses to an Orbx Simulation Systems Product One Plantronics Gaming RIG400HX Headset One of 2 Licenses to a TFDi Design Boeing 717 We're strongly encouraging pilots to also fly into other airports within ZBW airspace other than Boston. As of this posting, we have full coverage planned for Bradley (BDL), Providence (PVD) and Nantucket (ACK), as well as many other TRACONs and minor airports will additional staffing. For more information, visit the Boston Tea Party 2017 webpage, including full rules for Tea Party Poker and general information about this event. We'll see you all on the 19th!
