  1. Great question John! The current practice at vZDC is to not simulate any specific FRZ/SFRA procedures. The FRZ would be particularly challenging to enforce because very few people would be aware of a PIN and there's essentially zero way to enforce it (unless we set up a fake finger printing/background check system). While the SFRA stuff could be simulated (with departure gates, flight plan requirements and beacon codes), as far as I know it's generally not practiced by their controllers. If you wanted to file a proper flight plan (or as close as you can with VATSIM's limitations) and follow procedures I'm sure their controllers would accommodate.
  2. Congratulations Josh! A well deserved appointment, I’m sure you’ll continue to bring new ideas to the BVA training department. Thank you again Jay for your many years of hard work making BVA a better place. You’ve left large shoes to fill. Enjoy retirement!
  3. Congratulations on the appointment, Josh! Welcome back to the A-Team.
  4. Thank you all for the kind words. I want to thank everyone on the A-Team for the honor of having worked with you, and all the fine folks of BVA for allowing me to work for you. BVA is an incredible organization; I've met some of my best friends through this community, and have enjoyed almost every second of my time here. I hope to remain an active controller and pilot on the network, but needed to step back from this role to focus on my career and real world responsibilities. I'm sure that BVA will continue to deliver the best community on the network despite my corporate chocolate cake contributions!
  5. Thank you Clif, and the rest of the administration and membership that makes this community the truly incredible place it is. I am extremely grateful to every one of our members, pilots and controllers, for the positive, friendly, and knowledgeable attitudes that they bring to the table. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
  6. Our fReQuently progressing Social Media Manager, Mr. Austin Cirulli (RQ) has passed his A90 OTS! As the newest fully-certified S3 on our staff, RQ will begin helping out in the dark room in future events. Everyone please join me in congratulating him on his new rating! Keep up the good work RQ, we'll see ya at the center!
  7. Congratulations everyone! Well deserved on all fronts. Welcome to the team!
  8. Congrats, PI! I’ll see you en route to en-route!
  9. No, it's not on the arrival, but who doesn't like a little bit of surprise! Ladies and gentlemen of BVA, please join me in congratulating Sean Doyle (DY) on passing his Advanced Approach OTS, certifying him to control the Boston TRACON during peak times! DY's been working quite hard to complete this rating and joins an extensive list of controllers to have passed one of the highest certifications in the ARTCC within the past months. Look out for DY on the scopes for some of our upcoming events in the spring! Congratulations Sean!
